{"id":38582,"date":"2022-05-19T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-19T15:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/promote-geothermal-development-through-lithium-mining-in-argentina\/"},"modified":"2022-05-23T15:36:29","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T20:06:29","slug":"promote-geothermal-development-through-lithium-mining-in-argentina","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/promote-geothermal-development-through-lithium-mining-in-argentina\/","title":{"rendered":"Promote geothermal development through lithium mining in Argentina"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By<\/strong> : Franyi Sarmiento, Ph.D., Inspenet, May 19, 2022<\/p>\n\n<p>Recently, a meeting was held between Vice Governor Rub\u00e9n Dusso, Vice Governor of the province of Catamarca in Argentina, authorities from the state mining-energy company Camyen SE and representatives from Morena del Valle Minerals SA, a subsidiary of the Australian Lake Resources.<\/p>\n\n<p>The company operates a lithium brine project, called Kachi, and the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities that the geothermal resources available in the province can offer Catamarca as a generator of clean and renewable electricity, both to support the lithium to put it in service and people&#8217;s quality of life.<\/p>\n\n<p>Present at the meeting, on behalf of Moreno del Valle Minerales SA, were Sergio Daniel Irama\u00edn, Head of Geology and Jorge Christian Vega Filippin, Head of Hydrogeology; B\u00e1rbara Utesa, geologist from the Geothermal Chamber; by CAMYEN SE, Natalia Dusso, Vice President, Aldo Sarquis, Member, Mart\u00edn Peralta, Trustee; the Minister of Planning, Labor and Modernization, Ver\u00f3nica Soria. COPES representatives also participated in the meeting: Gretel Galeano, from the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences of the UNCa; Luciano Gonz\u00e1lez, from the Catamarca Bar Association; and Iv\u00e1n Sarquis, representative of ATE.<\/p>\n\n<p>A planned tender for the Copahue location, where a geothermal power plant once stood, appears never to have gotten off the ground and there is no information on the current status of other projects.
