Uranium Energy Corp (UEC) has received state approval to expand its operations at Christensen Ranch (Wyoming)<\/strong>, beginning extraction at three new header houses, with more facilities in progress or pending approval. In addition, a fourth facility is awaiting approval and three others are under construction in wellfields 12 and 10-extension. <\/p>\n\n

Production increase in Wyoming<\/h2>\n\n

With the green light from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, UEC has approved an increase in extraction capacity at the Christensen Ranch project, part of the Willow Creek complex. This milestone strengthens the site\u2019s restart, which had been on hold since 2018 and now incorporates new operational infrastructure to meet growing uranium demand<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Brent Berg, Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations<\/strong>, expressed his appreciation to the state regulator and confirmed the effective start of production at the new facilities, highlighting their direct impact on projected extraction volumes.<\/p>\n\n

Preparations in Texas<\/h2>\n\n

Meanwhile, the Burke Hollow mine, located in southern Texas, is already operational and ready to begin activities. The company is only awaiting final approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, which would complete a joint production strategy between its two main operating regions in the country. <\/p>\n\n

Licensing underway for conversion plant<\/h2>\n\n

Separately, United States Uranium Refining & Conversion Corp (UR&C), a UEC subsidiary, recently received a docket number from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)<\/a><\/strong> for its future conversion plant. This step formally launches the licensing process, following the submission of a letter of intent under the legal framework of 10 CFR Part 40. <\/p>\n\n

Project design and engineering are being handled by Fluor, and the company is evaluating multiple viable locations across different states. Site selection will consider factors such as state incentives, logistics access, available utilities, and industry synergies. <\/p>\n\n

Path to nuclear self-sufficiency<\/h2>\n\n

UEC\u2019s goal is to establish the first uranium hexafluoride conversion plant<\/strong> built on U.S. soil in decades<\/strong>. The company aims to address a critical national need: reduce reliance on foreign suppliers and secure a robust, sustainable domestic supply chain for nuclear fuel<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Once this process is completed, UEC would be positioned as the only vertically integrated supplier in the U.S., spanning from uranium extraction to conversion.<\/p>\n\n

Future projection<\/h2>\n\n

With an authorized production capacity of approximately 12 million pounds per year across Wyoming and Texas, UEC is accelerating its growth with a clear strategy: maximize its exposure to the unhedged global market, strengthen national energy resilience, and lead the new era of U.S. nuclear fuel.<\/p>\n\n
