This commitment focuses on utilizing the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/news\/american-researchers-create-technology-that-can-convert-waste-heat-into-electricity\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/convertir-calor-residual-en-electricidad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">waste heat<\/a><\/strong> generated during operations to reduce energy consumption and the environmental footprint. <\/p>\n\n<p>Starting in June 2025, the company began installing <strong><a href=\"\/en\/news\/csar-technology-improves-carbon-capture\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/tecnologia-csar-mejora-captura-de-carbono\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">heat recovery systems<\/a><\/strong> at critical stages of the industrial process. The recovered heat is used for water preheating, thereby reducing the need for additional energy. Furthermore, the cooling and compressed air systems have been modernized, improving the performance of the cooling towers.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Environmental results at the Girona coffee plant<\/h2>\n\n<p>Thanks to these initiatives, scheduled for completion in 2026, <strong>the plant will save more than 8,400 cubic meters of water per year<\/strong> and decrease its emissions by approximately 290 tons of CO2e. Energy consumption will be reduced by more than 30,000 GJ annually, consolidating the factory as a benchmark in operational efficiency. <\/p>\n\n<p>According to Arnau Pi, the factory director, these improvements represent a firm step toward a more responsible production that is connected to the environment. <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Energy recovery and efficient resource management allow us to be more competitive and sustainable.<\/p>\n<cite>He stated.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>The Girona plant, in operation since 1968, is one of the group&#8217;s most important in Europe. It currently employs more than 900 people and exports the majority of its production to 43 countries.
