This operation, carried out by Axpo\u2019s <strong><a href=\"\/en\/news\/crowley-and-naturgy-launch-the-first-u-s-lng-tanker-to-serve-puerto-rico\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/crowley-primer-buque-metanero-estadounidense\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LNG carrier<\/a><\/strong> Green Zeebrugge, has launched the SSLNG service, aimed at facilitating supply to vessels and coastal terminals in the Mediterranean. <\/p>\n\n<p>This development allows LNG to be loaded directly from the floating unit onto small vessels, which in turn can serve as distribution hubs for ports or as a source of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/hydrogen-shipping-maritime-fuel\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/transporte-de-hidrogeno-combustible-maritimo\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">marine fuel<\/a><\/strong>. The FSRU Toscana thus becomes the first Italian terminal with supply capability in this format. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Demand, certification, and sustainability<\/h2>\n\n<p>Interest in the service was reflected in the October and December 2025 auctions, where 15 operational slots were allocated. In response, OLT will expand slot availability in the coming months, anticipating an increase in operations. <\/p>\n\n<p>The infrastructure already holds ISCC EU certification, enabling it to receive and handle <strong><a href=\"\/en\/news\/gasums-coralius-completes-1000-deliveries-with-lng-and-bio-lng\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/el-buque-coralius-completa-1000-entregas\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bioLNG<\/a><\/strong>. This liquefied biomethane, recognized for its sustainability under the European Union\u2019s RED III framework, is compatible with existing networks and represents a viable solution for reducing CO\u2082 emissions. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategic partnerships and LNG service<\/h2>\n\n<p>Snam, OLT\u2019s parent company and operator of the pipeline connected to the FSRU, is strengthening its commitment to a more flexible energy network. Meanwhile, Axpo, a Swiss operator with a presence in more than 30 countries, is reinforcing its expansion strategy in clean energy solutions. <\/p>\n\n<p>Thanks to OLT\u2019s virtual liquefaction service, users can receive LNG directly into the terminal\u2019s tanks after commercial transactions at the Virtual Trading Point (PSV).
