This approval represents a key step for the company in its energy expansion strategy in Southeast Asia. <\/p>\n\n<p>The environmental license allows work to move forward on <strong><a href=\"\/en\/news\/trion-drilling-commencement-boosts-energy-development-in-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">drilling<\/a><\/strong> in the offshore block <strong>TL-SO-19-16<\/strong>, where the Chuditch-2 well is located. SundaGas is the operator of the production sharing contract (PSC) and plans to begin technical operations after meeting certain requirements set by the authorities. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Environmental review completed<\/h2>\n\n<p>The approval comes after the company submitted the <strong>Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)<\/strong> and the <strong>Environmental Management Plan (EMP)<\/strong>. Both documents were assessed by the ANP\u2019s technical committee and ultimately ratified by Timor-Leste\u2019s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. As a result, the Environmental License was granted on <strong>March 9, 2026<\/strong> and is valid until <strong>March 9, 2028<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conditions for drilling<\/h2>\n\n<p>Among the conditions set out in the environmental license are:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submission of a <strong>waste management plan<\/strong> prior to the start of operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducting a <strong>post-drilling environmental study<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>These guidelines reflect the country\u2019s regulatory commitment to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/sustainable-quality-management-iso-9001-esg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sustainable management<\/a><\/strong> of its energy resources.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Company statements<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Sunda Energy\u2019s CEO<\/strong>, <strong>Dr. Andy Butler<\/strong>, highlighted the technical and collaborative work involved in obtaining this authorization:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe granting of the Environmental License for Chuditch-2 is a crucial step in our drilling preparations and is the result of extensive work on studies, reviews, and planning together with the ANP.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A strategic project for the region<\/h2>\n\n<p>Chuditch-2 is part of a high-potential gas asset located in deep waters, about <strong>185 km south of Timor-Leste<\/strong>. The block is strategically positioned near existing processing infrastructure in Indonesia and northern Australia, which could facilitate its future regional commercialization. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Future outlook<\/h2>\n\n<p>With the environmental license in hand, Sunda Energy is preparing for the next operational steps, including logistics and mobilization to drill Chuditch-2.
