This recognition represents a high-level technical validation that supports the structural integrity and operational stability of the platform throughout its estimated 25-year service life.

Technical details of the X100 platform

The platform is designed for turbines with rotor diameters of up to 160 meters and a power output between 6 MW and 10 MW, depending on site conditions. The approved design includes validated calculation methodologies, an optimized station-keeping system, and a robust structure capable of withstanding extreme wind, wave, and current conditions.

With an estimated structural weight of 1,500 tons, it represents a reduction of between 30% and 50% compared to traditional floaters used in similar projects in Europe.

Clear path for deployment in the Mediterranean

Thanks to this certification, the X100 platform is ready for deployment at the PLEMCAT test center, located in the Spanish Mediterranean. Essential data will be collected there to continue the certification process and serve as a basis for the development of industrial-scale versions such as the X150, designed for turbines between 15 and 20 MW.

This achievement is part of the European NextFloat project, co-led by X1 Wind and Technip Energies, which seeks to accelerate the industrialization of floating wind solutions and reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE).

A model of public-private collaboration

The NextFloat project, along with NextFloat+ and PAREF (France 2030), receives financial support from the European Union, the French State, and the Spanish Government’s RenMarinas program. This collaboration demonstrates how coordination between public and private actors can catalyze key technological advances in the energy transition.

X1 Wind is positioning itself as one of the most promising developers in the floating wind sector. With patented technology, a highly specialized team, and the backing of international certifications, the company is moving steadily toward the mass commercialization of platforms capable of transforming access to clean energy in deep waters.

Source and photo: X1 Wind

The basic design of X1 Wind’s X100 platform has been validated by DNV, accelerating its deployment in the Mediterranean.

[13026,13044

post-342847","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy","categoria_noticias-new-energies
["GET
