This intervention forms part of an essential technical foundation for installing 25 offshore wind turbines in one of the most complex areas of the Irish Sea.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The geotechnical study implemented at the Oriel wind farm<\/h2>\n\n<p>Under a planned schedule, the <strong>Fugro Voyager vessel<\/strong> is operational off the coast of County Louth. The primary objective is to execute a geotechnical study that will enable safe design and installation of the foundations. <\/p>\n\n<p>The project has a projected capacity of 375 MW, and is led by a strategic alliance between <strong>JERA Nex<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/bp-intensifies-its-bet-on-u-s-shale\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"341222\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bp<\/a><\/strong> and the public entity <strong>ESB<\/strong>. The mobilization of resources in winter conditions demonstrates the urgency and commitment of the stakeholders involved to the country&#8217;s sustainability goals. <\/p>\n\n<p>To achieve flawless results at these depths, the mission employs the SEADEVIL coring system. This technology enables undisturbed soil samples to be obtained, even in highly challenging offshore environments. <\/p>\n\n<p>Likewise, operations include <strong>cone penetration testing<\/strong> and <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/shearwater-begins-first-deepwater-node-seismic-survey-in-ghana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">downhole geophysics<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> at depths reaching 33 meters. All data collected will be processed at specialized laboratories in Wallingford to ensure that every engineering decision is supported by solid scientific evidence. <\/p>\n\n<p>The collaboration between <em>Fugro<\/em> and the <em>Oriel<\/em> consortium sets a high standard for the regional industry.
