This procedure is part of the comprehensive mooring trials the vessel has been undergoing since late last year. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The safety systems of the nuclear icebreaker Chukotka<\/h2>\n\n<p>From a technical standpoint, it is essential to understand that these 250 kW units operate autonomously in the event of any contingency at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/construction-of-the-reactor-building-for-unit-4-at-the-leningrad-2-nuclear-power-plant-begins\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"240199\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reactor plant<\/a><\/strong>, under multiple conditions.<\/p>\n\n<p>The design provides that, when the main system protections are activated, this equipment begins operating to sustain critical lighting and the ship\u2019s <strong>essential pumps<\/strong>. Likewise, these engines ensure the vessel maintains basic electrical operability when the reactors are not in service. <\/p>\n\n<p>Through this technical milestone, the <em>Chukotka <\/em>is established as the fifth vessel in a series intended to dominate the Western Arctic routes.
