The ceremony took place at the <strong>Shitanoe Shipbuilding shipyard,<\/strong> where the vessel\u2019s name was officially confirmed. It is set to begin operational sailing in April 2026. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expanding the LNG transfer and supply network<\/h2>\n\n<p>Osaka Gas\u2019s strategy aims to strengthen the supply of clean fuel for large <em>capesize <\/em>bulk carriers operated by consortia such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/mol-group-strengthens-its-international-presence-with-energy-alliance-in-libya\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"333027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MOL<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>K LINE <\/strong>and <strong>NYK<\/strong>. With a tank capacity of approximately 3,610 m\u00b3, the SETO AZURE will enable refueling of deep-draft vessels operating in and around the Seto Inland Sea. <\/p>\n\n<p>Likewise, this unit features a dual-fuel electric propulsion system. This configuration allows it to use both LNG and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/maersks-new-dual-fuel-giant-enters-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"286257\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conventional fuel oil<\/a><\/strong>, optimizing the vessel\u2019s operational efficiency. Implementing this direct ship-to-ship transfer method complements the company\u2019s previous capabilities, which operated via truck-to-ship and terminal-to-ship systems.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The deployment of this bunkering vessel follows the <strong>International Maritime Organization<\/strong>\u2019s guidelines on reducing pollutant gases. LNG is currently the most viable bridge to reduce carbon dioxide on global trade routes. However, the <strong>Daiga Group<\/strong> envisions a future beyond fossil fuels through the development of synthetic e-methane.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Under the <em>Energy Transition 2050<\/em> strategic plan, the use of e-methane is positioned as the natural successor to liquefied natural gas. This approach ensures that current investments in <strong>LNG infrastructure <\/strong>remain compatible with tomorrow\u2019s fuels.
