As part of Phase II of the 2026\u20132028 Expansion Plan, ESENTIA and Siemens Energy are moving forward with strengthening Mexico\u2019s largest private natural gas transport<\/a><\/strong> system. The initiative includes adding two new state-of-the-art compression stations, one in San Juan, Chihuahua, and another in Aguascalientes. <\/p>\n\n

Natural gas network key to Mexican industry<\/h2>\n\n

This joint effort will increase the system\u2019s transport capacity by nearly 50%, from 1,300 to 2,000 million cubic feet per day once all three phases of the plan are completed. The energy corridor known as Wahalajara, which connects Texas with the country\u2019s central-west region, plays a strategic role by supplying a significant share of national gas consumption. <\/p>\n\n

Due to its reach and efficiency, the Wahalajara network is an essential asset for key sectors such as manufacturing, mining, and data centers<\/a>,<\/strong> which depend on a continuous energy supply. Expansion through compression improves not only capacity, but also the system\u2019s operational resilience amid sustained growth in demand. <\/p>\n\n

Technology and vision for energy security<\/h2>\n\n

Daniel Bustos, CEO of ESENTIA, highlighted that the early procurement of 15-megawatt compression equipment is part of a long-term vision aimed at ensuring the country\u2019s energy security. Along those lines, Javier Pastorino, Siemens Energy Director for Northern Latin America, noted that this exclusive partnership makes it possible to integrate robust technological solutions that strengthen the natural gas<\/a><\/strong> backbone network. <\/p>\n\n

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for 2027,<\/a><\/strong> in line with the Phase II timeline. In a global environment where competition for compression equipment is increasing, securing these units represents a strategic move to consolidate the system\u2019s expansion. <\/p>\n\n
