The Japanese energy company has signed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) granting it full control of INPEX South West Caspian Sea Petroleum Co., Ltd. (ISWCS), following the acquisition of the remaining 49% stake held by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).<\/p>\n\n
With this transaction, ISWCS becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of INPEX, strengthening its operational presence in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil project, located in the Caspian Sea off the coast of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n
For more than two decades, ACG<\/a><\/strong> has been a consistent source of production and cash flow for INPEX. This operation seeks to consolidate the strategic benefits derived from its participation in one of the region’s most significant offshore fields. <\/p>\n\n Furthermore, the acquisition responds to the company’s efforts to secure proven reserves and maintain stable extraction levels.
