This move represents an important step in the sustainable expansion of digital infrastructure in the United States.

AES will provide clean energy directly on the same site where Google’s new campus will be built, optimizing resources and avoiding additional impacts on the local power grid. In addition, air cooling will be used to eliminate water use in the data center’s operations, a measure aligned with both companies’ environmental goals.

Agreements for a sustainable data center

The agreement includes power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a 20-year term, under which AES will not only supply energy but also build the shared electrical infrastructure and manage the campus energy system. This integration ensures operational efficiency, cost stability, and a replicable model for future technological developments.

The project also aims to strengthen the regional economy through job creation and collaboration with rural landowners for land use. AES highlights its experience in developing scalable solutions for data centers, with nearly 12 GW in signed energy agreements globally, many of them directly with hyperscalers such as Google.

Environmental commitment and leadership in digital infrastructure

This partnership reaffirms Google’s commitment to sustainable growth and the energy transition of its operations. In turn, it positions AES as a key player in supplying energy to large-scale data centers, offering long-term reliability and sustainability.

Source: AES

Photo: Shutterstock

The agreement between AES and Google also completely eliminates the use of water for data center cooling.

[13026

post-338837","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy
["GET
