This modernization has involved the <strong>replacement of 98<\/strong> old <strong>wind turbines<\/strong> with only <strong>13 latest-generation units<\/strong>, a significant improvement in energy and environmental performance. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Increasing efficiency without expanding capacity<\/h2>\n\n<p>With an installed capacity of 84.4 MW, the park maintains its evacuation capacity, but is now capable of producing <strong>254 gigawatt hours (GWh)<\/strong> per year, representing a 72% increase over the old facility. This production is equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 70,000 homes and will prevent the emission of approximately <strong>108,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO\u2082)<\/strong> each year. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A sustainable financial model with European support<\/h2>\n\n<p>The project is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/totalenergies-to-supply-1-gw-of-solar-power-to-google-in-texas-for-15-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">long-term power purchase agreement (PPA)<\/a><\/strong> 15-year PPA signed with a private customer. In addition, ACCIONA Energy has received <strong>8.3 million euros<\/strong> from the <strong>Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR)<\/strong>, funded by the European Union through the <strong>NextGenerationEU<\/strong> program. <\/p>\n\n<p>On the other hand, more than <strong>1,000 jobs<\/strong> have been linked to the dismantling of the old wind farm and the construction of the new one. The drastic reduction in the number of wind turbines, in addition to optimizing land use, improves the landscape integration of the facility. It also prolongs its useful life and maximizes the use of the wind resource.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A strategic commitment to repowering<\/h2>\n\n<p>ACCIONA Energy emphasizes that in areas with a renewable tradition, such as Tarifa, repowering offers advantages over the construction of new plants.
