The new deadline is set for <strong>March 20, 2026<\/strong>, which provides an additional window before the forced sale of the company can be executed. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The judicial process is still in abeyance<\/h2>\n\n<p>A <strong>Delaware court<\/strong> last year ordered the auction of shares of <strong>PDV Holding<\/strong>, Citgo&#8217;s parent company, in order to satisfy claims by companies such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/west-elara-platform-shines-in-the-north-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ConocoPhillips<\/a><\/strong> and investment funds such as <strong>Elliott Investment Management<\/strong>, which are claiming multimillion-dollar compensations for expropriations and unfulfilled contracts.<\/p>\n\n<p>Although an auction has already taken place and Elliott is expected to become the new controller of the company, <strong>the transaction cannot be completed without the final authorization of OFAC<\/strong>, which has not yet issued its official position.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to expect in the coming months?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The final decision on the fate of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/citgo-buys-venezuelan-oil-again-at-key-moment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Citgo<\/a><\/strong> remains dependent on U.S. foreign policy and OFAC actions.
