This fuel includes 15% biodiesel, in accordance with current regulations. The agreement also provides for the development of sustainable energy solutions through the <strong>use of Diesel R<\/strong> and the possible supply of HVO<em>(hydrotreated vegetable oil<\/em>).  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supply and production of renewable fuels  <\/h2>\n\n<p>Since 2023, both companies have been working on tests with low-carbon fuels. In 2024, progress was made toward a cooperation agreement that includes the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/petrobras-drives-energy-transition-with-new-biofuels\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"293083\">Diesel R5<\/a><\/strong>with 5% additional renewable content, and tests with bunker fuel incorporating up to 24% renewable component. These initiatives are part of the transition to more efficient and cleaner industrial operations.  <\/p>\n\n<p>With this contract, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Petrobras <\/span>strengthens its strategy of directly reaching large industrial consumers. The company&#8217;s president, Magda Chambriard, mentioned that this type of partnership allows Petrobras to better understand the customers&#8217; needs and generate high-performance energy solutions aligned with decarbonization goals. <\/p>\n\n<p>For Vale, the partnership is part of its long-term plan to decarbonize its operations. The mining company&#8217;s CEO, Gustavo Pimenta, highlighted Brazil&#8217;s potential as a benchmark in renewable fuels and the value generated by this direct relationship with Petrobras.
