This agreement includes the production and commercialization of marine battery systems certified by DNV, designed with LFP 3C technology and an operating life cycle of up to 15 years.

LFP 3C technology ensures durability standard

The new marine BESS system is distinguished by the integration of lithium iron phosphate cells that allow continuous high-speed discharge. This positions it as an alternative to NMC cell technologies, extending its applicability to various maritime transport scenarios.

Through its active balancing technology, the system prolongs the durability of the cells, and also reduces the total cost of ownership for ship operators. In addition, the system has a three-layer battery management system(BMS) architecture, certified under the IEC62477 standard, which ensures safety, redundancy and high resistance to electromagnetic interference.

The alliance integrates EVE Energy’ s massive production capacity of 10 MWh per day with Green Whale’s operational experience in start-up, maintenance and technical support for the maritime sector. Moreover, the commitment is to establish an after-sales service network in Europe, with spare parts warehousing in Norway and the Netherlands.

Technologies from this alliance are currently being introduced in sectors such as tankers, public shipping, aquaculture, offshore platforms and short sea shipping. Certification by bodies such as DNV, BV, ABSNK and CCS strengthens confidence in these systems.

Looking ahead, both companies plan to launch a new battery model based on two types of cells under development, with a view to commercialization in 2026. This initiative is part of a joint innovation and development strategy aimed at maintaining a competitive edge in marine energy storage technologies.

Godfrey Wang, CEO of Green Whale Technology, said that this collaboration marks a breakthrough in offering safe, scalable and international energy technologies. The presence of a local European supplier with Asian backing allows for global technical coverage, tailored to today’s sustainable shipping needs.

Source and photo: Green Whale Technology

To ensure digital security and regulatory compliance in data management, a European-based cloud platform will be developed.
