{"id":323448,"date":"2025-12-15T16:31:29","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T20:31:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/cycle0-expands-its-presence-in-spain-with-new-biomethane-plants\/"},"modified":"2025-12-16T08:42:46","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T12:42:46","slug":"cycle0-expands-its-presence-in-spain-with-new-biomethane-plants","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/cycle0-expands-its-presence-in-spain-with-new-biomethane-plants\/","title":{"rendered":"Cycle0 expands its presence in Spain with new biomethane plants"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The European company Cycle0 has started up two new biomethane plants in Spain, reaffirming its commitment to the energy transition and the generation of renewable gas from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/more-than-300-livestock-farmers-to-drive-cobirgy-biogas-plant\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/ganaderos-la-planta-de-biogas-cobirgy\/\">agricultural and livestock waste<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New biomethane plants in Navarra and Catalonia<\/h2>\n\n<p>The new facilities are located in Artajona (Navarre) and Manlleu (Barcelona), where they will process <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/clean-energy-activates-biogas-injection-in-texas-from-south-fork-dairy\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/inicia-inyeccion-de-gnr-en-planta-de-texas\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bovine waste<\/a><\/strong> <strong>to produce up to 15 GWh of biomethane per year per plant<\/strong>. This renewable gas will be transported through a virtual pipeline to an injection point also operated by Cycle0, allowing its direct incorporation into the national gas grid. <\/p>\n\n<p>The development of both plants has been carried out in close collaboration with local livestock farmers, who provide the raw material for the process: organic waste. This synergy provides an efficient solution for waste management, generates employment in the territory and strengthens the circular economy in rural areas. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An expansion investment plan<\/h2>\n\n<p>With these two new infrastructures, Cycle0 now has seven operating plants in Spain. Its roadmap envisages <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7401543113405747200\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7401543113405747200\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to 30 owned facilities with proprietary upgrading and liquefaction<\/a><\/strong> with proprietary upgrading and liquefaction technology, thanks to <strong>an estimated investment of 200 million euros<\/strong>. The goal is to achieve a combined production of close to 800 GWh per year.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The plants are equipped with upgrading systems developed by FNX, a Cycle0 subsidiary specializing in biogas upgrading and liquefaction. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/clean-hydrogen-from-wastewater-in-manchester\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/producen-hidrogeno-limpio-a-partir-de-biogas\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">liquefaction of biogas<\/a><\/strong>.
