Alleima confirmed that it has achieved a 41 % reduction in its Scope 1 and 2 CO\u2082 emissions<\/strong> by 2019. This figure puts it well ahead of the original plan<\/strong>, which targets a 54% reduction by 2030. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it has set a target to reduce Scope 3 emissions<\/strong>, those associated with its customers and the value chain, by 28%<\/strong>. These targets have been reviewed and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)<\/strong>, confirming their alignment with the latest climate science. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These advances are due to the fact that the company has replaced liquefied petroleum gas with biogas. biogas<\/a><\/strong> in several production centers and is investing in the electrification<\/strong> of energy-intensive processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most noteworthy initiatives has been the collaboration with the Kanthal division<\/a><\/strong>, an expert in industrial electric heating. Together, they have electrified key processes such as the heating of mold tubes in continuous casting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acknowledgments that support the effort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the validation by SBTi, Alleima has recently received a gold medal from EcoVadis<\/strong>, a recognition that places it among the top 5% of the world’s most sustainable companies<\/strong>, according to this organization, which has evaluated more than 150,000 global companies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
