The project, which will start operating on January 1, 2028, represents <strong>the largest contract of its kind signed so far<\/strong> for a stand-alone battery in the entire Benelux region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leopard is a large-scale storage facility with a <strong>total capacity of 300 MW<\/strong>, of which Vattenfall will operate one third. The system will enable storage of up to <strong>400 MWh of energy<\/strong>, with a loading and unloading capacity of 100 MW, positioning it as a strategic hub for managing the growing share of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/operational-efficiency-renewable-energies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">renewable energies<\/a><\/strong> in the European electricity system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A breakthrough backed by InfraVia Capital Partners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The development of the Leopard system is supported by InfraVia Capital Partners, which has driven the investment required to reach the Final Investment Decision (FID). With this, GIGA Storage reinforces its role as a provider of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/energy-storage-on-fossil-fuel-dependence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">energy storage<\/a><\/strong> solutions in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Third flexibility contract in less than a year<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This agreement marks the <strong>third such contract for Vattenfall<\/strong> in a short period of time.
