This step is crucial because it means that the project leaves the planning phase and <strong>officially moves into the construction phase<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steady progress towards construction<\/h2>\n\n<p>The BC-Wind offshore wind farm will have a capacity of 390 MW, generated by <strong>26 wind turbines of 14 MW each<\/strong>, with Power Boost technology that increases power to 15 MW per unit.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The wind farm is expected to <strong>be operational in 2028<\/strong>, generating enough electricity to supply nearly <strong>500,000 Polish households<\/strong>. The construction phase will begin in 2026, following several years of regulatory and environmental procedures completed by Ocean Winds. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A project supported by key institutions<\/h2>\n\n<p>The financing has been structured with the participation of the European Investment Bank (EIB). <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/neoenergia-obtains-european-backing-to-transform-bahias-power-grid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Investment Bank (EIB)<\/a><\/strong>the Instituto de Cr\u00e9dito Oficial (ICO) of Spain, and a consortium of 13 commercial banks. The EIB is providing <strong>close to one-third of the total<\/strong>, reflecting the soundness and maturity of the project. <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The EIB&#8217;s continued commitment to climate support, economic competitiveness and Europe&#8217;s strategic sovereignty underpins this beneficial long-term loan for the construction and operation of BC-Wind, a new offshore wind project in the Polish economic zone of the Baltic Sea.<\/p>\n<cite>Teresa Czerwi\u0144ska, vice president of the EIB.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact on the local economy<\/h2>\n\n<p>Ocean Winds has placed special emphasis on the fact that <strong>Polish companies will actively participate in the project<\/strong>, with P&amp;Q in charge of the design and construction of the onshore substation. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/thor-ohvs-substation-for-denmarks-largest-offshore-wind-farm-completed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">onshore substation<\/a><\/strong>while Tele-Fonika Kable will manufacture and install the export cables. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/install-cables-in-floating-wind-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">export cables<\/a><\/strong>.
