This represents a 50% jump from the initial 1.8 million.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The expansion is part of a 420 million Emirati dirham (about $115 million) investment plan shared proportionally between the two companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Increased infrastructure for a regional hub<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, which is expected to be completed in early 2028, includes the extension of the pier from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adportsgroup.com\/en\/news-and-media\/2025\/11\/18\/ad-ports-group-signs-agreement-with-cma-cgm-group-to-expand-terminal-at-khalifa-port\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.adportsgroup.com\/en\/news-and-media\/2025\/11\/18\/ad-ports-group-signs-agreement-with-cma-cgm-group-to-expand-terminal-at-khalifa-port\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">800 to 1,200 meters<\/a><\/strong> and the expansion of the refrigerated container yard from 46 to 67 hectares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This additional infrastructure is designed to enhance the UAE&#8217;s land and sea connectivity, consolidating Abu Dhabi as a regional logistics hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Khalifa Port Terminal at full capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its opening, the terminal has operated at levels that exceeded expectations. <strong>In just 10 months, it reached full capacity<\/strong>, prompting the decision to anticipate the next phase. This rapid response reflects the strategic location of Khalifa Port and the UAE&#8217;s economic dynamism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The terminal is managed by a joint venture comprised 70% by CMA Terminals and 30% by AD Ports Group. This collaboration aims to strengthen global trade through modern and sustainable infrastructure.
