A new international delivery consolidates Damen Shipyards as a benchmark in the supply of naval dredging components. The company has successfully completed the shipment of four packages of dredging systems<\/a><\/strong> for TSHD<\/a><\/strong> (Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers), manufactured and shipped from its facilities in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced dredging systems and large scale performance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each package includes a 700 mm suction line with operational capability to 25 meters depth<\/strong>, along with a high-pressure dredge pump, a bow coupling for offloading and a complete instrumentation system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This equipment has been integrated into twin 2800 m\u00b3 vessels which, although not of Damen’s own design, incorporate its dredging technology to ensure efficiency in coastal operations<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regional collaboration and local impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The units are being built at various shipyards in Central America, and two have already successfully passed dredging tests<\/strong>, receiving final approval from the client. The other two vessels are expected to enter service in 2026. In addition to port maintenance dredging<\/a><\/strong>, the dredgers are expected to contribute to beach regeneration and land reclamation projects in various coastal areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All components were designed and manufactured at Damen Dredging Equipment in the city of Nijkerk, consolidating the company’s domestic manufacturing approach. Sales director Horacio Delgado Bravo highlighted Damen’s Technical Cooperation model, which seeks to boost the development of local capabilities in shipbuilding<\/a><\/strong> through technological support and specialized supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dredges delivered are equipped with versatile discharge systems: bottom valves, bow pumping and bow discharge. This operational flexibility allows each vessel to be adapted to different dredging tasks and environmental conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
