These installations integrated solar generation and agricultural use, and represent a total capacity of 30.2 megawatts(MWac).

Clean energy and productive land from agrovoltaic systems

The projects will be located in Campania, Acquafredda 2, with 11.7 MWac, as well as Sicily, Enna Piscopo with 9.5 MWac and finally, Calabria, Cave with 9 MWac. In addition, construction is estimated to start in the next few weeks, with commissioning scheduled for 2026. In total, about 47,000 solar modules will be installed, all on elevated mounting structures that allow the simultaneous development of agricultural and pastoral activities.

Each project integrates technology adapted to local realities: two will use horizontal axis solar trackers and one will be mounted on fixed elevated structures. This design allows sheep grazing or crop harvesting under the panels, which maximizes soil utilization. In addition, the modules act as a barrier against frost, hail or heavy rain.

This award is in addition to the two Agri-PV projects that the company won in last year’s auction and which are currently under construction. With this expansion, RWE is consolidating its role as a benchmark for agricultural photovoltaicsThe new projects are part of RWE’s strategy to support Italy’s sustainability strategy through systems that combine energy efficiency and rural profitability.

The three projects will also serve as a platform for agronomic and energy analysis. RWE will monitor <g id="gid_0">meteorological variables</g>, <g id="gid_1">solar yields </g>and crop productivity, with the aim of optimizing<g id="gid_2"> Agri-PV technology </g>in multiple contexts. This information may be essential for replicating agroenergy models in other areas of the country.

In addition to its agrovoltaic developments, RWE operates 17 onshore wind farms in Italy with a combined capacity of 598 MW. The company is building two new wind farms in Puglia and Basilicata.

Source and photo: RWE

[13026,13044

post-314211","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy","categoria_noticias-new-energies
["GET
