Today, <em>\u00d8rsted <\/em>produces 99% of its energy from renewable sources. <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/orsted-advances-financing-for-greater-changhua-2-project-in-taiwan\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"277382\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>renewable sources<\/strong><\/a>with a strong presence in <strong>offshore wind farms<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n\n<p>According to Ingrid Reumert, Senior Vice President of Global Stakeholder Relations, reducing emissions is<em> &#8220;a scientific and moral responsibility.<\/em> She added that they will continue to work with their partners to achieve net zero emissions throughout their value chain by 2040. <\/p>\n\n<p>The company was a pioneer in adopting climate targets approved by the<strong> Science Based Targets<\/strong><em>(SBTi<\/em>) initiative. A strategy that included measures such as the total closure of coal-fired plants, the electrification of its vehicle fleet and the exclusive use of certified renewable electricity. <\/p>\n\n<p>Now, with its direct and indirect emissions <em>(scopes 1 and 2<\/em>) reduced to just <strong>4 g CO2e\/kWh<\/strong>, the company maintains its pace towards decarbonizing its supply chain by addressing intensive materials such as steel and marine fuels.<\/p>\n\n<p>COP30, held in Brazil, has put the spotlight on electrification and the role of industry in meeting the Paris Agreement commitments.
