The park is an expansion of the original Haut-Chemin park, commissioned by Q ENERGY in 2014 with 20 MW and adds <strong>seven turbines<\/strong> capable of supplying green electricity to an <strong>additional 29,500 people<\/strong>, also contributing to the <strong>reduction of some 27,000 tons of CO\u2082<\/strong> per year. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategic importance and background of the project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The project began planning in <strong>2015<\/strong>, received the final permit in <strong>2023<\/strong>, and in just one year the construction work was completed. The Haut-Chemin 2 wind farm is Q ENERGY&#8217;s <strong>seventh wind farm<\/strong> in the region, like the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/sinn-power-breaks-ground-on-worlds-first-vertical-floating-solar-power-plant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">floating solar farm<\/a><\/strong> \u00celots <strong>Blandin<\/strong>, inaugurated last spring, considered the largest of its kind in Europe. <\/p>\n\n<p>In total, <strong>Q ENERGY has already deployed close to 300 MW<\/strong> of renewable capacity in Haute-Marne, providing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/investments-for-clean-energy-transition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clean energy<\/a><\/strong><strong>more than 250,000 people<\/strong> per year.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Partnership between Q ENERGY and Velto Renewables<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Haut-Chemin 2 wind farm is the <strong>fourth joint project between Q ENERGY and Velto Renewables<\/strong>, where Q ENERGY typically develops and builds the projects, and then transfers part of the portfolio to Velto, which acts as a <strong>long-term investor and co-owner<\/strong> (they will operate the farm for decades).<\/p>\n\n<p>This partnership lays the groundwork for selling and developing more projects in the future, while for Velto, this is its <strong>first <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/edf-to-develop-the-mediterraneans-first-floating-wind-farm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wind project <strong>on French soil<\/strong><\/a><\/strong>, a milestone in establishing itself as a major player in the country.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Haute-Marne, a model territory in green energy<\/h2>\n\n<p>Thanks to projects such as Haut-Chemin 2, the municipality of Biesles and the Haute-Marne region are positioned as a <strong>model for long-term renewable energy integration<\/strong>.
