Following the closure and dismantling of the Litoral Thermal Power Plant<\/strong>, Endesa <\/strong>and the Port Authority of Almeria<\/strong>(APA<\/em>) have formalized the early return of the concession at the Port of Carboneras<\/strong>. This action responds to the company’s decarbonization commitments, and allows the APA <\/strong>to recover strategic infrastructures to optimize freight traffic. <\/p>\n\n

The early cessation of the Port of Carboneras<\/h2>\n\n

The concession has been terminated by mutual agreement. The recovered space includes the Ribera II wharf<\/g>, with 145.6 meters of mooring line and 9.35 meters of draft, as well as about 28,000 m\u00b2 of land area and 248,000 m\u00b2 of water surface. Also included are a breakwater and a second pier of 241 meters with a draft of 17 meters. <\/p>\n\n

The facility was built in 1985 for the unloading of unloading of coal<\/a><\/strong>After having handled more than 80 million tons of bulk solids during its operation, they are leaving behind their original function. They are now oriented to strengthen regional logistics. <\/p>\n\n

The province is a European leader in the production of this mineral, and having greater port infrastructure represents a direct boost to its international competitiveness. <\/p>\n\n
