In addition, it is estimated that it will prevent the emission of around <strong>35,000 tons of CO\u2082 annually<\/strong>, thus supporting the goals of <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/decarbonization-of-the-economy-sources\/\"><strong>decarbonization<\/strong><\/a> decarbonization goals. <\/p>\n\n<p>During the construction phase, it is estimated that the project will reach a peak of <strong>250 jobs<\/strong>, with an average of 75 active workers during the <strong>estimated 24 months of construction<\/strong>. In addition, the design contemplates the <strong>possibility of incorporating <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/apatura-reaches-2-gw-with-new-560-mw-bess-system-in-scotland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">battery storage (BESS)<\/a><\/strong>, which would increase operational flexibility and strengthen the resilience of the power grid in the area. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Relationship with Genesis Energy<\/h2>\n\n<p>The announcement of the Rangit\u012bkei project coincides with the completion of the formal partnership between <strong>FRV Australia and Genesis Energy<\/strong>, a collaboration that allowed FRV to enter the local market and accelerate the deployment of its first projects. The two companies will, however, maintain their link through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/frv.com\/projects\/lauriston-pv-plant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lauriston solar farm<\/a><\/strong>solar farm in Canterbury, currently the largest in the country. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is this news important?<\/h2>\n\n<p>This announcement is part of New Zealand&#8217;s effort to have a <strong>decarbonized economy<\/strong> and rely less on fossil fuels.
