The device uses an end-finding feedback system to hover in the air and follow moving light sources with surprising accuracy. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does the moth drone fly as an insect without a complex brain?<\/h2>\n\n<p>This biomimetic drone <strong>requires no maps or complex calculations<\/strong>. Instead, it applies real-time control through constant flapping adjustments. This approach, inspired by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/beetle-robot-object-handling\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/robot-escarabajo-manipulacion-de-objetos\/\">natural behavior of inse<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/beetle-robot-object-handling\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/robot-escarabajo-manipulacion-de-objetos\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">c<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/beetle-robot-object-handling\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/robot-escarabajo-manipulacion-de-objetos\/\">inse cts<\/a><\/strong> such as bumblebees, dragonflies and hummingbird moths, makes it possible to maintain stability during hovering flight and even to follow a moving target.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The researchers observed that, like insects, <strong>the drone generates voluntary perturbations to analyze its environment<\/strong> and improve its performance. This oscillation is not a defect, but an intentional function that allows for constant performance-based corrections. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minimalist technology, precise results<\/h2>\n\n<p>The system is based on independent adjustments of the number of flaps per second and wing angle. Thus, it controls roll, pitch and yaw without external sensors or predictive algorithms. Thanks to its low power consumption and accuracy, it represents a viable alternative to heavier, computer-dependent systems. <\/p>\n\n<p>The research, published in the journal <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.aps.org\/pre\/abstract\/10.1103\/4dm4-kc4g\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/journals.aps.org\/pre\/abstract\/10.1103\/4dm4-kc4g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Physical Review E<\/strong><\/a>The research, published in the journal Physical Review E, suggests that this navigation model can be extended to other robotic systems that require continuous adaptation without the need for artificial learning.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concluding remarks<\/h2>\n\n<p>This development not only opens a new avenue for the design of autonomous drones <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/autonomous-drone-reaches-record-speeds-in-unknown-environments\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/crean-micro-dron-autonomo-que-supera-los-20\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">autonomous drones<\/a><\/strong> lighter drones, it also suggests that certain evolutionary principles may be present in other species beyond insects.
