The vessel will be incorporated into DeepOcean’s fleet from January 2026, and is designed to perform geophysical surveys, geotechnical surveys and <g id="gid_1">IMR</g> (inspection, maintenance and repair) <g id="gid_1">assignments</g> in nearshore areas. In addition, it has a 497 m² deck, with a load capacity of 1,395 tons, allowing it to accommodate advanced equipment and adapt to multiple types of operations.

Among the systems installed, one of the most important technologies, is an A-frame for sensor deployment, a dedicated area for launching specialized geotechnical tools and a mezzanine LARS system designed for remotely operated underwater vehicles.

Moreover, the company has plans to mobilize one of its WROVs and implement an assessment that may include an ROV observation. Such capabilities increase the scope of coastal missions in sectors such as offshore wind and oil and gas.

According to Øyvind Mikaelsen, CEO of DeepOcean, the aim is to offer a more cost-effective and compact solution for clients operating in shallower waters, especially in renewable energy. The company believes that the market for surveying, inspection and light maintenance services will continue to expand over the next few years, and the new vessel represents an ideal tool to capture that demand.

The company is backed by the Triton fund, and continues to consolidate its global presence with a service offering ranging from subsea engineering to unmanned operations. This deployment of the Glomar Supporter enhances its ability to serve European projects with greater agility, accuracy and a smaller environmental footprint.

Source and photo: DeepOcean

The vessel is owned and operated by Glomar Offshore BV as part of its fleet of specialized vessels.

[13026,13048

post-307687","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy","categoria_noticias-maritime
["GET
