Magnon, ErasmoP2X and Power2X have announced a joint project for the production of \n e-methanol<\/a>\n<\/strong> in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), using renewable hydrogen and captured biogenicCO2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n

This initiative will be connected to the future Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Grid, managed by \n Enag\u00e1s<\/a>\n<\/strong> and aims to strengthen the production of renewable fuels, promote industrial decarbonization and generate new economic opportunities in Castilla-La Mancha.<\/p>\n\n

Large-scale production of e-methanol<\/h2>\n\n

The proposal is based on the integration of clean technologies. On the one hand, ErasmoP2X and Power2X will generate green hydrogen. \n green hydrogen<\/a>\n<\/strong> by electrolysis powered by a 1 GW photovoltaic development in Saceruela. <\/p>\n\n

Thanks to this synergy, a production capacity of up to 200,000 tons per year of synthetic methanol<\/strong> is expected to be achieved<\/strong> for industrial, energy and petrochemical applications including \n sustainable aviation fuels (eSAF)<\/a>\n<\/strong> (eSAF) and feedstocks for plastics and biochemicals.<\/p>\n\n

Connection to the Hydrogen Backbone Network<\/h2>\n\n

The project will be articulated within the \n Hydrogen Backbone Network<\/a>\n<\/strong>a national infrastructure promoted by Enag\u00e1s to connect the main poles of production and consumption of renewable hydrogen. This network will be key to distribute the hydrogen generated in Castilla-La Mancha to other industrial centers in the country and Europe, which reinforces the exporting vocation of the future green molecules manufactured in Puertollano. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to the energy impact, the facility represents an important lever for the economic development of Castilla-La Mancha.
