With an estimated investment of US$264 million, the complex will have an installed capacity of 340 MW solar and 960 MWh in batteries. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The hybrid solar plant is part of the Oasis Central plan.<\/h2>\n\n<p>This new installation is part of the <strong>Oasis Central platform<\/strong>, which brings together five phases of <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/engie-chile-starts-up-bess-system-in-antofagasta\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"264571\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hybrid projects<\/a>\n<\/strong> in central Chile. In total, this platform seeks to deploy 1.1 GW solar and 3.8 GWh of storage by early 2027.   <\/p>\n\n<p>The groundbreaking event was attended by high-level Chilean authorities and industry executives. This institutional participation demonstrates the government&#8217;s support for the development of clean and resilient infrastructure in the Andean country. <\/p>\n\n<p>All five phases of Oasis Central have <strong>power purchase agreements<\/strong><em>(PPAs<\/em>), including a 24\/7 base load agreement with the state-owned company <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/codelco-faces-emergency-at-andesita-project-after-earthquake\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"284310\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Codelco<\/a>\n<\/strong>. This contract guarantees a continuous supply, which reinforces the stability and commercial viability of the project. <\/p>\n\n<p>The company has highlighted that this new platform takes as a reference its experience in northern Chile with Oasis de Atacama, a complex with 2 GW of solar capacity and 11 GWh of batteries, under development for 2027. The Escuderos plant, in Castilla-La Mancha, will follow the same scheme with 200 MW solar and 704 MWh of storage.
