{"id":303894,"date":"2025-10-03T10:22:59","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T14:22:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/ujis-robot-fish-awarded-for-its-innovation-in-marine-automation\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T11:50:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T15:50:54","slug":"ujis-robot-fish-awarded-for-its-innovation-in-marine-automation","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/ujis-robot-fish-awarded-for-its-innovation-in-marine-automation\/","title":{"rendered":"UJI&#8217;s robot fish awarded for its innovation in marine automation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This week, the <strong>Center for Research in Robotics and Underwater Technologies<\/strong><em>(CIRTESU<\/em>) of the <strong>Universitat Jaume I<\/strong> conducted tests in PortCastell\u00f3 with the robot fish that has just received national recognition for the best work in marine automation during the congress of the <strong>Spanish Committee of Automation<\/strong> held in Cartagena, Colombia.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The automation of the robot fish  <\/h2>\n\n<p>This <strong>underwater robotic system<\/strong> integrates biomimetic fins, umbilical communication and an auxiliary sonar. In addition, its most outstanding capability is the ability to deploy and retrieve sensors in the marine environment, which makes it a key tool for the inspection and maintenance of aquaculture facilities. Among its functions is a <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/cathodic-protection-test-stations\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"243031\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visual inspection module<\/a>\n<\/strong> designed to check fish farm nets from the inside, with the aim of improving safety and animal welfare.  <\/p>\n\n<p>According to researcher Ra\u00fal Mar\u00edn, <strong>CIRTESU&#8217;s strategy<\/strong> consists of validating each advance first in controlled environments and then in real scenarios such as the Port of Castell\u00f3. There, Port Authority personnel collaborate continuously in the tests, which are repeated every two months. For Rub\u00e9n Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, president of the entity, this work strengthens the position of the port as an innovation pole oriented to safer and more sustainable infrastructures.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This project is part of Andrea Pino Jarque&#8217;s doctoral thesis and is directed by researchers Mar\u00eda Rosario Vidal and Ra\u00fal Mar\u00edn, with the coordination of Professor Pedro J. Sanz. Young graduates in robotic intelligence have also participated, such as Max Puig Sari\u00f1ena, who developed <strong>underwater communication experiments<\/strong> under the supervision of Professor Juan Echag\u00fce. <\/p>\n\n<p>The robot fish symbolizes a technological breakthrough in marine automation, while projecting the potential of university research applied to the productive sector.
