Global firm RES has been selected to operate and maintain Cleve Hill, the largest solar plant in the United Kingdom<\/strong>, with an installed capacity of 373 megawatts (MW) and located on the Kent coast. This contract not only expands its operational presence in the country, but also consolidates its position as a key technical supplier in the deployment of clean energy<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

A strategic bet on British solar energy<\/h2>\n\n

Cleve Hill, developed by Metlen for Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, began generating electricity in July and is designed to supply more than 100,000 homes each year<\/strong>. The agreement with RES includes the provision of operation and maintenance services<\/a><\/strong>including maximizing the efficiency, availability and lifetime of the installed equipment. <\/p>\n\n

Juan Guti\u00e9rrez, CEO of RES Services, highlighted that this contract reaffirms confidence in the company’s technical capabilities and its commitment to projects with national impact. He also emphasized that progress on permits, grid connections and stable regulatory frameworks is essential to replicate this type of initiative. <\/p>\n\n

A strategic solar plant for the United Kingdom<\/h2>\n\n

Recognized as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), Cleve Hill<\/a><\/strong> gained state approval in 2020<\/strong>. It represents a central component in the UK’s strategy for decarbonization and energy security. RES’s previous experience with large-scale solar installations is crucial to ensuring the performance of this photovoltaic plant<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to increasing its management portfolio to 2.5 GW in the United Kingdom and Ireland, RES will add new specialists to its local team<\/strong>. They will reinforce the technical capabilities needed to ensure the operational success of the park and to cater for future expansions. <\/p>\n\n

An international collaboration with a track record<\/h2>\n\n

The contract marks the first joint project between RES and Metlen in the UK<\/strong>, although both companies already cooperate in countries such as Italy, Romania and Australia. This new step strengthens a partnership that seeks to scale clean and resilient energy solutions in strategic markets. <\/p>\n\n

With more than 28 GW developed globally and a portfolio of services spanning more than 40 countries, RES continues to be a key player in advancing a low-carbon, efficiency-focused energy system.<\/p>\n\n
