{"id":300309,"date":"2025-09-23T11:42:49","date_gmt":"2025-09-23T15:42:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/everllence-equips-beccs-project-with-axial-compression-technology\/"},"modified":"2025-09-23T11:54:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-23T15:54:46","slug":"everllence-equips-beccs-project-with-axial-compression-technology","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/everllence-equips-beccs-project-with-axial-compression-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Everllence equips BECCS project with axial compression technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It was recently announced that <strong>Everllence <\/strong>will supply the compression technology for Stockholm Exergi&#8217;s BECCS project, <strong>one of the world&#8217;s largest <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/kier-boosts-co%e2%82%82-capture-with-chemical-combustion-in-a-loop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">carbon capture<\/a> projects<\/strong>, located in Stockholm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does the project consist of?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stockholmexergi.se\/en\/bio-ccs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BECCS Stockholm<\/a><\/strong> is one of the world&#8217;s largest <strong>Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS)<\/strong> plants and is being built at the biomass power plant V\u00e4rtaverket, which belongs to the energy company <strong>Stockholm Exergi<\/strong>. The objectives of the project are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Capture carbon dioxide released during the combustion of wood residues, such as wood chips and branches, which are used to generate heat and electricity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By capturing and storing CO\u2082 of biological origin, to remove more carbon from the atmosphere than is emitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once operational in 2028, the facility will capture <strong>800,000 tons of CO\u2082 per year.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has financial support from the Swedish government and funds from the European Union, including carbon phase-out agreements with <strong>global companies such as <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/clearway-and-microsoft-sign-agreement-to-generate-335-mw-of-clean-energy-from-virginia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Microsoft<\/a>.<\/strong> All the CO\u2082 captured will be liquefied and permanently stored under the seabed of the North Sea through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/northern-lights-begins-co%e2%82%82-injection-under-the-north-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Northern Lights project<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The role of Everllence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Formerly known as MAN Energy Solutions, this is a company with <strong>more than 260 years of history<\/strong>, which now focuses on decarbonization technologies.
