It is the <strong>longest cable-stayed bridge in the world<\/strong> and the first to integrate highway, local road and intercity railroad in a single structure. <\/p>\n\n<p>With its 10-kilometer length and a main span of 1,208 meters, the project shortens the journey time between Changzhou and Taixing from 80 minutes to just 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Structural records of the new cable-stayed bridge<\/h2>\n\n<p>During six years of work, the consortium led by China Communications Construction implemented unprecedented advances. These include the world&#8217;s largest capacity intelligent tower crane, designed for loads in excess of 10,000 ton-meters, and the world&#8217;s largest deck crane, which can place steel segments with millimeter precision. <\/p>\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FCCCCLTDnews%2Fvideos%2F1299770191891213%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p>The highest recorded velocity was also achieved in the sinking of drawers in silty clay.<\/p>\n\n<p>The viaduct set multiple world records: the longest span on a cable-stayed bridge, the largest steel truss arch combined with road and rail, and the longest continuity in latticed steel girders.<\/p>\n\n<p>Its 350-meter towers, equivalent to a 120-story building, were built in steel and concrete. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/japan-first-concrete-that-captures-carbon\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"154311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concrete<\/a><\/strong> to withstand the strong currents of the Yangtze.<\/p>\n\n<p>The new link not only shortens distances, but also boosts the economic integration of the Yangtze Delta.
