With the official closing of the agreement signed in May, Vestas has consolidated its industrial presence in Europe by taking control of the onshore wind blade manufacturing<\/a> plant in Goleni\u00f3w<\/strong>, Poland. This facility, previously managed by LM Wind Power, represents a strategic link in the Danish company’s supply chain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wind blade factory and European supply chain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Goleni\u00f3w plant, which became operational in 2009 and was expanded in 2017<\/strong>, will continue to produce blades for onshore turbines, including the EnVentus V172-7.2 MW. This step enables Vestas to enhance its capacity to meet the growing European demand for sustainable energy solutions<\/a><\/strong>, said Felix Henseler, the firm’s chief technology and operations officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the integration of approximately 400 employees from LM Wind Power, Vestas’ total workforce in Poland now stands at around 2,000 people. This move reinforces the company’s commitment to industrial development and employment generation in the Polish market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synergies with offshore production<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Goleni\u00f3w operation complements the assembly plant that Vestas already operates in Szczecin, where hubs and nacelles for its offshore wind turbine are manufactured V236-15.0 MW<\/a><\/strong>. This combination of onshore and offshore capabilities strengthens the company’s position in major European markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The acquisition of this plant represents a consistent step in Vestas’ strategy to expand its manufacturing infrastructure within the continent. By securing local production and keeping talent in the region, the company underscores its confidence in Poland’s potential to drive the transition to cleaner, more affordable energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
