The <strong>PPL 2000<\/strong> and <strong>PPL 2001<\/strong> <strong>concessions<\/strong>, located in the West Delta basin, were awarded following the <em>2024 Exploration Round<\/em> organized by the Nigerian <strong>Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New offshore exploration permits in prolific basin<\/h2>\n\n<p>With a combined area of approximately 2,000 square kilometers, these offshore blocks are <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/ecopetrol-and-oxy-create-an-alliance-to-explore-four-offshore-blocks-in-the-colombian-caribbean\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"38135\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore blocks<\/a><\/strong> are part of one of the most active areas with the greatest hydrocarbon potential in the Gulf of Guinea. The <strong>production sharing contract<\/strong><em>(PSC<\/em>) signed with the Nigerian authorities provides for the drilling of at least one exploratory well as part of the initial program. <\/p>\n\n<p>The company acts as operator with an 80% stake, while <strong>South Atlantic Petroleum<\/strong> retains the remaining 20%. This award represents the first time in more than ten years that an international company has been awarded licenses through a competitive round in Nigeria, enhancing TotalEnergies&#8217; position as a leading player in the country&#8217;s energy transition. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/shocking-news-totalenergies-discovers-oil-and-gas-in-nigeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"85796\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">exploration strategy<\/a><\/strong> TotalEnergies&#8217; exploration strategy focuses on high-impact, drill-ready prospects that are viable for efficient development.
