The Greek shipping company Euroseas Ltd. has confirmed through a statement the order of two intermediate container ships of 4300 TEU. The construction will be carried out by the Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding shipyard in China and the delivery of both units is scheduled for March and May 2028. <\/p>\n\n
These new contracts, valued at approximately US$118.5 million in total<\/strong>, are part of a modernization plan that includes more fuel-efficient ships adapted to future environmental requirements.<\/p>\n\n They will be twins of two other vessels previously ordered in 2024 by the same company.<\/p>\n\n According to Aristides Pittas, president and CEO of Euroseas, this investment reaffirms the company’s commitment to the segment of containership segment<\/a><\/strong> segment, considered strategic due to its low renewal rate and the aging of the existing global fleet.<\/p>\n\n Moreover, the financing of this order will be structured through a combination of debt and equity, allowing Euroseas to maintain a solid financial position without compromising its operating capacity.<\/p>\n\n Currently, the Athens-based company operates a fleet of fleet<\/a><\/strong> of 22 vessels and plans to reach 25 vessels by 2028, representing a total capacity of 78,344 TEU.<\/p>\n\n
