The start-up company Aalo Atomics<\/a><\/strong>based in Austin, Texas, has closed a $100 million Series B financing round<\/strong> led by Valor Equity Partners. The company is seeking to accelerate the construction of its first advanced nuclear reactor<\/a><\/strong>called Aalo-X, and an adjacent experimental data center, with the goal of setting a precedent in combining energy and digital infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n

Nuclear reactors for clean and constant supply<\/h2>\n\n

Aalo’s proposal is focused on the development of modular nuclear reactors designed to power artificial intelligence data centers<\/a><\/strong>. This approach promises a constant, clean and scalable source of energy that responds to the growing demands of processing and sustainability in the AI era. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to Valor Equity Partners, funds such as Fine Structure Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, NRG Energy, Vamos Ventures, Tishman Speyer, Kindred Ventures, Harpoon Ventures, Crescent Enterprises, Crosscut, Alumni Ventures, MCJ, Gaingels and Nucleation Capital participated in the round. With this capital injection, Aalo accumulates more than $136 million in funding since its founding in 2023. <\/p>\n\n

The Aalo-X project and its experimental data center<\/h2>\n\n

The company’s roadmap calls for the Aalo-X reactor to reach critical zero power status next summer. The novelty of the plan is the installation of a data center next to the plant, a model that could be replicated on a large scale to supply electricity directly to digital infrastructures. <\/p>\n\n

While data centers represent the first application, Aalo<\/a><\/strong> also plans to extend its reactors to municipal utilities, desalination and industrial processes. In doing so, it seeks to position modulated nuclear energy as a viable<\/a><\/strong>r as a viable and competitive alternative to traditional sources. <\/p>\n\n

Aalo’s ultimate goal is to reduce the cost of electricity to 3 c\/kWh levels, bringing modular nuclear power to more communities, developing countries and even off-grid applications. The company aims to become a key player in the transition to a reliable and sustainable energy supply. <\/p>\n\n
