The offshore wind farm off the French Atlantic coast continues to make progress. Half of the 61 turbines planned for the \u00celes d’Yeu and Noirmoutier project, a 488-megawatt plant developed by Ocean Winds in collaboration with institutional and private partners, have already been installed. <\/p>\n\n
Since June, the site has been injecting clean energy clean energy<\/a><\/strong> into the French electricity system. At half of its operational capacity, it already provides enough renewable electricity to supply some 400,000 people<\/strong>, about half the population of the Vend\u00e9e department. <\/p>\n\n The wind turbines, of 8 MW each, were manufactured by Siemens Gamesa. Their installation is being carried out by the “Vole au Vent<\/a><\/strong>“of the Jan De Nul Group. Various local entities, subcontractors and port authorities in western France are joining in this effort. The turbine assembly is scheduled to be completed by September. <\/p>\n\n It is important to mention that the company is also leading other projects in the country, such as Dieppe Le Tr\u00e9port<\/a><\/strong> and the EFGL floating farm<\/a><\/strong>floating farm, as well as having secured an additional 250 MW concession in the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n\n The final commissioning of the \u00celes d’Yeu and Noirmoutier \u00celes d’Yeu and Noirmoutier<\/a><\/strong> is scheduled for the end of 2025, making a significant contribution to France’s climate and energy objectives.<\/p>\n\n
