Seatrium and Karpowership have signed a letter of intent that strengthens their cooperation in floating power infrastructure. This strategic step will materialize with the integration of four new floating Powership power plants, with an option for two additional units, and with the transformation of three LNG carriers<\/a><\/strong> into floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs). <\/p>\n\n

Advances in modular efficiency and integration of Powerships<\/h2>\n\n

The vessels will be delivered by Karpowership in Singapore, where Seatrium will be responsible for their mechanical and electrical assembly, as well as commissioning. These works are scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2027. <\/p>\n\n

The initiative also contemplates extending the useful life of methane tankers through the installation of regasification modules, extended mooring systems and the incorporation of essential components such as automation, unloading and cargo handling systems.<\/p>\n\n

Technical platform for adaptable energy solutions<\/h2>\n\n

From Seatrium, Alvin Gan emphasized that this alliance allows them to consolidate their position as a global player in floating solutions, with applications ranging from marine data centers<\/a><\/strong> to desalination plants. Gokhan Kocak of Karpowership stressed that they are developing a third generation of modular Powerships, ready to integrate technologies such as CCUS or advanced turbines. <\/p>\n\n

The agreement allows both companies to drive a more flexible and sustainable energy model. The floating units can be rapidly deployed in regions with low infrastructure, providing direct access to electricity and supporting decarbonization through plug-and-play solutions<\/a><\/strong>. In addition, the new modular design is expected to allow customization tailored to the energy needs of each project. <\/p>\n\n

Seatrium expands its leadership in offshore infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n

With operations in Asia, Europe and the Americas, Seatrium is consolidating a technical network that supports its growth as a provider of specialized offshore specialized offshore infrastructure<\/a><\/strong>.
