{"id":288093,"date":"2025-08-16T10:10:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T14:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/?p=288093"},"modified":"2025-08-12T16:54:32","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T20:54:32","slug":"envision-validates-thermal-containment-of-its-bess-system-in-49-hours","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/envision-validates-thermal-containment-of-its-bess-system-in-49-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"Envision validates thermal containment of its BESS system in 49 hours"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a controlled, but highly challenging environment, Envision Energy conducted a thermal resistance assessment of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/heat-transfer-mechanisms-effect-materials\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/mecanismos-de-transferencia-de-calor\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thermal resistance<\/a><\/strong> applying conditions equivalent to a high-severity fire scenario.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Four units of your <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/fluence-launches-smartstack-a-modular-high-density-energy-storage-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/lanzan-smartstack-almacenamiento-de-energia\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">intelligent storage system,<\/a><\/strong> fully charged and arranged only 5 centimeters apart, were exposed to heat without external intervention for more than 49 hours.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This arrangement, considered the densest ever recorded in BESS tests, simulated the worst-case scenario in terms of thermal coupling.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full BESS system integrity<\/h2>\n\n<p>The main container reached temperatures of up to 1297 \u00b0C. Despite this,<strong> there was no fire spread or structural damage<\/strong> to adjacent units. The nearby batteries maintained stable internal temperatures, well below critical thresholds. In addition, the affected container retained its full structural integrity, with no collapse or leaks.   <\/p>\n\n<p>To ignite the fire, a heat source was applied to uninsulated cells positioned in the center of the configuration. The ignition process took almost three hours, significantly increasing the response time available to the detection and risk mitigation systems. <\/p>\n\n<p>All <strong>gases generated were captured and treated in real time<\/strong>, avoiding the release of pollutants into the environment. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/environmental-risks-assessment-mitigation\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/gestion-del-impacto-de-riesgos-ambientales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pollutants into the environment.<\/a><\/strong>. The test was conducted under the direct supervision of the CSA group and fire engineering experts, validating the technical performance of the system and its compatibility with operational sustainability criteria. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI applied to energy security<\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.envision-group.com\/en\/smartstorage.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.envision-group.com\/en\/smartstorage.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">intelligent system<\/a><\/strong> Envision&#8217;s intelligent system combines <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/smart-prediction-of-corrosion-failures-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/prediccion-inteligente-fallas-por-corrosion\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">artificial intelligence<\/a><\/strong> for thermal anomaly detection with a multi-tier distributed security architecture.
