The initiative is known as <strong>U-SHIELD<\/strong>, a technology that proposes the creation of drones with the ability to locate and immobilize unauthorized underwater vehicles, thus protecting communication cables, transport pipelines and offshore wind farms. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Underwater drone response to future threats<\/h2>\n\n<p>Europe&#8217;s dependence on complex subsea energy systems has made subsea infrastructure a sensitive target. To meet this challenge, <em>U-SHIELD<\/em> brings together specialists from <strong>Teledyne RESON<\/strong>, <strong>Aalborg University<\/strong>, the <strong>Technical University of Denmark<\/strong>, the <strong>University of Southern Denmark<\/strong> and <strong>Copenhagen Subsea<\/strong>. The project has an investment of 26 million kronor provided by the Innovation Fund through its <em>Grand Solutions<\/em> program <em>.<\/em>  <\/p>\n\n<p>This drone under development will be designed to <strong>detect suspicious movements in critical areas<\/strong> and neutralize threats through capture mechanisms. This approach incorporates advanced vision systems, acoustic sensors and remote control technology to ensure continuous surveillance without putting human operators at risk. <\/p>\n\n<p>According to Tim Lysholt Jensen, Vice President of Products and Technology at Teledyne RESON, the success of U-SHIELD will depend on collaboration between experts from different disciplines. Innovation Fund director Cecilie Br\u00f8kner mentioned that this technology will strengthen Denmark&#8217;s energy resilience and benefit other European countries with subsea infrastructure networks. <\/p>\n\n<p>The implementation of solutions such as U-SHIELD allows for the shielding of marine <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/offshore-oil-platforms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">marine infrastructure<\/a><\/strong> against intentional incidents or accidents.
