The transaction was closed for US$500 million and is part of the optimization process of the French company&#8217;s portfolio, which will maintain its activity in other areas of the country. <\/p>\n\n<p>Both blocks, located in the area of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/they-will-finance-a-millionaire-oil-project-in-vaca-muerta\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"89833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vaca Muerta<\/a><\/strong>area, have concessions in force until 2051 and were in the pilot development phase.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">YPF strengthens its presence in Vaca Muerta<\/h2>\n\n<p>With this purchase, YPF strengthens its position as a central player in the production of unconventional hydrocarbons, while advancing in its strategy of territorial integration and operational consolidation.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u00a1Esto es Vaca Muerta!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gJVvu801cu4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Vaca Muerta is located in the Neuqu\u00e9n Basin. Source: YPF <\/p>\n\n<p>For its part, TotalEnergies will continue to concentrate its efforts on priority assets such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/totalenergies.com.ar\/es\/nuestras-actividades-en-argentina\/nuestras-actividades\/exploracion-y-produccion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aguada Pichana Este and San Roque<\/a><\/strong>from which it currently obtains a combined production of close to 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. It also maintains operations in the Austral Marine Basin 1, in Tierra del Fuego. <\/p>\n\n<p>The transferred blocks are characterized by their high potential. La Escalonada, focused on shale oil extraction, borders Bajo del Choique, a high yield area. Rinc\u00f3n de la Ceniza, meanwhile, is located in a wet gas region with projections linked to the development of LNG projects and the export of liquids.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This transaction also implies a readjustment in the distribution of control: Shell, through O&amp;G Developments LTD SA, maintains its 45% and Gas y Petr\u00f3leo de Neuqu\u00e9n the remaining 10%. The entry of YPF allows for greater coordination with local and energy development objectives. <\/p>\n\n<p>According to spokespersons of both companies, the decision does not represent a withdrawal of TotalEnergies from the country.
