Using an ultra-high-precision analysis method, <strong>they detected a unique isotopic signature of ruthenium-100 (100Ru)<\/strong> in lava samples from the Hawaiian Islands. This signature indicates that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/best-practices-for-the-future-of-mining\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/el-futuro-de-la-mineria-mejores-practicas\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">materials rich in precious metals<\/a><\/strong> precious metals such as gold are slowly seeping from the extreme depths of the planet to its surface.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The earth&#8217;s core as an active precious metal reservoir<\/h2>\n\n<p>Although the core <strong>is buried more than 3,000 kilometers beneath the crust<\/strong>, the results suggest that some of its contents, including gold, platinum and other noble metals, migrate into the Earth&#8217;s mantle.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This happens through a slow but continuous flow of superheated rocks that, after ascending over millions of years, feed oceanic volcanic formations such as Hawaii. The trace of the 100Ru isotope <strong>is the first tangible evidence of this deep exchange<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p>This discovery expands the understanding of the planet&#8217;s internal dynamics and also has key implications for strategic sectors.
