Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), under the management of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has completed the delivery of the BYD Zhengzhou<\/strong>, the second LNG-powered vehicle carrier<\/a><\/strong> LNG and diesel-powered vehicle carrier ship ordered by the BYD Group. The delivery ceremony took place on July 16 in Nansha, Guangzhou. <\/p>\n\n

Characteristics of the vehicle carrier<\/h2>\n\n

This vessel, with a length of 199.9 meters and a beam of 38 meters, is designed to reach speeds of up to 18.5 knots<\/strong>. It integrates a dual propulsion system of liquefied natural gas and a permanent magnet shaft generator.<\/a><\/strong> and a permanent magnet shaft generator. <\/p>\n\n

These technologies, along with antifouling coatings and energy-saving devices, reinforce its focus on environmental efficiency and sustainable shipping.<\/p>\n\n

Logistics expansion after delivery of BYD Zhengzhou<\/h2>\n\n

The “BYD Zhengzhou” joins its twin, the “BYD Hefei”, delivered in January. Both are part of BYD’s own fleet aimed<\/strong> at strengthening the export of automobiles manufactured in China<\/strong>. In addition, the company has opted to diversify its maritime logistics by incorporating other vessels, such as the “BYD Explorer No.1<\/a><\/strong>“and the “BYD Changzhou”, built in other shipyards such as CIMC Raffles. <\/p>\n\n

With this delivery, GSI expands its track record in vehicle transport vessels, with a total of 17 units with a capacity of 7,000 vehicles and one with 8,600. In total, 127,600 transport places have been delivered. The shipyard has succeeded in positioning itself as a leader in low-emission naval solutions<\/a><\/strong>with an order backlog of close to 40 units for this segment. <\/p>\n\n
