Beacon Offshore Energy has officially commenced production of oil and natural gas<\/a> from the Shenandoah field<\/strong>, located in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, about 150 miles offshore Louisiana. The first Phase 1 well came on stream on July 25, and the company expects to progressively ramp up production with subsequent wells during the third quarter. <\/p>\n\n

FPS boosts the Shenandoah field<\/h2>\n\n

Production is channeled through the Shenandoah FPS (Floating Production System), installed in Walker Ridge 52, at a depth of 1,775 meters. This facility has a nominal processing capacity of 120,000 barrels of oil per day and 140 million cubic feet per day of gas<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to serving Shenandoah<\/a><\/strong>In addition to serving Shenandoah, the FPS was designed as a shared infrastructure that will allow for the exploitation of other resources in the region.<\/p>\n\n

Phase 2 and Shenandoah South<\/h2>\n\n

The company has confirmed that Phase 2 will include two additional wells and a subsea pump booster, while drilling of the fifth well is scheduled for mid-2026. <\/p>\n\n

In parallel, Beacon announced approval of the development of Shenandoah South<\/strong>, an adjacent discovery located at 95 Walker Ridge, which will connect to the FPS via a 4.8-kilometer flowline and a separate riser.<\/p>\n\n

Between Shenandoah, Shenandoah South and the Monument discovery, Beacon projects recoverable resources in this area to reach nearly 600 million barrels of oil equivalent<\/strong> (MMBOE). The estimate for Shenandoah South is 74 MMBOE in 2P reserves, with first production expected in the second quarter of 2028. <\/p>\n\n

Strategic alliances and high-pressure technology<\/h2>\n\n

The development is supported by ultra-high pressure technology of 20,000 psi, which allows drilling to vertical depths in excess of 9,000 meters. <\/p>\n\n

Beacon shares the Shenandoah South project with Houston Energy, HEQ Deepwater and Navitas Petroleum<\/a><\/strong>consolidating an alliance that seeks to efficiently exploit the resources of the Inboard Wilcox geological trend.<\/p>\n\n
