Central European Petroleum<\/strong>(CEP<\/em>) has confirmed the discovery of a major oil field in the Wolin East 1 well<\/strong>, located in the Baltic Sea, just 6 kilometers off the Polish coast. The well was drilled with a jack-up rig to a depth of 2715 meters, and revealed a hydrocarbon column of 62 meters and an oil quality of 33.4\u00b0 API. <\/p>\n\n

The potential resources of the Wolin East deposit<\/h2>\n\n

The Wolin East field<\/strong> is estimated to contain up to 200 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent, including marketable gas and natural gas liquids. In addition, low-risk development opportunities exist in the same Main Dolomite geological formation and in the deeper Rotliegend, bringing the total potential of the concession to over 400 mmboe. <\/p>\n\n

According to CEP<\/strong>, this discovery represents a pillar for the sustainable development of offshore resources. offshore resources<\/a><\/strong> resources of the country. CEP has held 100% of the Wolin exploration<\/strong> license since 2017, and anticipates an orderly transition to the development and exploitation phase of the field.<\/p>\n\n

This discovery comes against a European backdrop of the search for new energy sources. The Wolin East field<\/strong> could establish itself as one of the most important discoveries of the decade in Europe, and serve as a basis for strengthening the region’s energy security and autonomy. <\/p>\n\n
