On July 3, Freire Shipyard laid the keel of a 75-meter sailing vessel for Greenpeace International at its facilities in Vigo. This step marks the beginning of the construction of a vessel designed to sail with minimal environmental impact. <\/p>\n\n
Specifically, this sailboat will have a sail area of almost 2,000m2<\/sup> and will be equipped with an advanced hybrid propulsion system. This system will include hydrogen fuel cells<\/a><\/strong> and engines capable of using methanol as an alternative fuel<\/a><\/strong> alternative fuel, which will drastically reduce fossil fuel consumption and carbon emissions. <\/p>\n\n In addition, the construction of this vessel incorporates renewable energy solutions such as solar panels<\/a><\/strong> and battery storage, reinforcing its character as an environmentally responsible vessel.
