This strategic area is approximately 210 kilometers from Hammerfest in the Norwegian Arctic. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gas discovery in Jurassic formations<\/h2>\n\n<p>Specifically, preliminary calculations estimate a recoverable volume ranging between <strong>300 and 500 million standard cubic meters of gas<\/strong>, equivalent to between 1.9 and 3.1 million barrels of oil equivalent. This discovery is part of production license 532 and becomes the fifteenth exploration well drilled in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/pemex-drilling-exploratory-well-yawa-1exp\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/pemex-perforara-pozo-exploratorio-yawa-1exp\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">exploratory well drilled since the<\/a><\/strong> since the license was granted in 2009. <\/p>\n\n<p>The drilling was also carried out by the platform <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosl.no\/coslprospector\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.cosl.no\/coslprospector\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COSLProspector<\/a><\/strong> platform to investigate Jurassic formations. Geological analyses <strong>highlighted the presence of a 14-meter gas column<\/strong> in the St\u00f8 formation and also gas in the Nordmela formation. Although the well was not formation tested, valuable data and samples were collected.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Licensees, led by Equinor, are evaluating a possible subsea connection between this new resource and existing field infrastructure <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.equinor.com\/energy\/johan-castberg\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.equinor.com\/energy\/johan-castberg\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Johan Castberg<\/a><\/strong>field, which would consolidate Norway&#8217;s position as a key supplier of Arctic energy and natural gas. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/natural-gas-a-bridge-to-clean-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/gas-natural-como-puente-hacia-energia-limpia\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">natural gas<\/a><\/strong> to Europe.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exploration at Skred and Drivis strengthens Equinor&#8217;s plan<\/h2>\n\n<p>In addition, this find at Skred complements Equinor&#8217;s recent work on the Drivis structure within the Johan Castberg field, where another discovery was identified in the 7220\/7-CD-1H exploration well. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/equinor-announces-oil-discovery-in-johan-castberg-field\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/equinor-hallazgo-en-el-campo-johan-castberg\/\">discovery was identified in the 7220\/7-CD-1H exploration well, cementing the region&#8217;s potential as an important core for development.<\/a><\/strong>cementing the region&#8217;s potential as an important core for Norwegian energy development.<\/p>\n\n<p>Ultimately, <strong>the well was drilled to a depth of 2,144 meters below sea level<\/strong> and is located in water depth of 415 meters.
